Principal - Mrs. Francis

Ashley Francis graduated from Edinburg High School in 2002, and is excited to start her new position as Edinburg School District’s 6-12 Principal this summer. She has taught Physical Education at Mt. Zion High School for fifteen years, Health Education through Illinois Virtual School for seven years, and was also adjunct faculty at Illinois College for two years. Francis graduated from Millikin in 2006 with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science/Physical Education. She earned her first Master’s degree in 2010 from University of Illinois in Sport & Recreation, and earned her second Master’s degree in 2019 from Eastern Illinois University in Educational Leadership. She also spent many years coaching at the high school level, and in 2014 was awarded Macon County Girls Basketball Coach of the Year. Francis was a volunteer assistant coach at Illinois College for three years before hanging up the whistle to pursue her administrative degree, and start a family. Ashley resides in Edinburg with her husband Jayme, daughter Faye, three dogs, and chickens. They enjoy playing outside, going on golf cart rides, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
